Dope Glacier Alaska Views
Driving north from Anchorage isn't as instantly dramatic as going south, but within an hour you're immersed in stop-and-shoot scenery. The Glenn Highway runs northeast to agricultural Palmer, then twists east along the Matanuska River Valley, sandwiched between coastal and interior mountains.
We drove up to Summit first due to ice and slide road conditions before circling back south about 30 miles to eat at the Long Rifle Lounge & our next Airbnb.
Above is some gas station Moose Jerky
At the Long Riffle Lounge we enjoyed beautiful window views of Glacier. For dinner I had the blueberry fish tacos, a salad & tomato pesto dressing & a glass of cab.
We arrived to our Airbnb Glacier View Cabin where host, her son & cat lived underneath.
To put this to where I can to give you the best scenario for imagination... with fresh aromas of legalization from underneath our boarding we debated on watching Friday as we sat in our chairs giggling for an hour prior to brief paranoia in going to sleep. Much to my knowledge, marijuana is legal in AK & it was the 3rd state to legalize recreational use in 2014 & medical use in 1998.
We actually passed a drive thru shop in route up from Talkeetna. This was just like the many coffee or doughnut shops in pole barns along highways. However, I will note I do not participate in these activities- thus my reaction to the brief contact of the toke from the down stairs owners. I also slept with a window open & refrained from calling my mother to check in.
