Alaska temperatures vary from season to season- always check forecast and plan to how cold natured you are. After visiting three times I have a go to packing for each season & being I'm from the South we Southerners are bad to think Alaska is freezing all the time. It can be tricky- but here is my list of what to pack:
Layers
Layers are your best friend when traveling to Alaska. Depending on your activity of the day it can be -4 degrees and you will be sweating because you can not take off but so much. Alaska Weather can be down right unpredictable. I personally purchased a pair of base pants and top off of amazon & wore them nearly every day. My first trip I was in Denali in snow down to my base layers sweating in -4 degrees because I originally thought I would need all this snow gear.
