Alaska Travel Guide October 2019

Day By Day in AK:

10:9 We flew out of Atlanta to save on flight cost with a sale that Alaskan Airlines was running into ANC. The first night we picked up our car rental & just stayed in the Marriott in downtown Anchorage.

10.10 Travel by Car to Homer AK from Anchorage Staying at the Smoky Bay Cabin AIRBNB. This drive is about 4 Hours/221 miles.

Stops to check out on the Scenic Highway drive: Dramatic Shorelines at Turnagain Arm. Do not go on the mudflats. Mud flats = death.

Wildlife Conservation Center

Portage Glacier

10.11 Drive to Seward from Homer, AK (167 miles/3 hours). Staying at Ocean Front Yurt on AIRBNB with Millers Landing. Places to stop on road trip- Exit Glacier Kenai Fjords National Park, Resurrection Bay, Nash Road for Landscapes

10.12 Seward AK to Talkeetna AK ( 237 miles/4 hours time). Staying at Lakefront Cabin Airbnb. Places to Eat were Talkeetna Roadhouse - highly recommend & Mile High Pizza. Places to stop on road trip: Mirror Lake, Thunderbird Falls, Denali View Point ( Milepost 134-135) Iditarod Sled Dogs, Stubbs the Mayor Cat at Nagley's General Store.

10.13 Drive from Talkeetna, AK to Valdez (360 miles/7 hours). Staying at Glacier Views Airbnb.

10.15 Drive from Wasilla, AK to Anchorage, AK Staying at Marriott downtown Anchorage

Things to do: Explore Anchorage, Ulu Factory, Thunderbird Falls ( 2 miles out & back hike).

10.16 Day In Anchorage- souvenir shop. Went to Movies & saw the Joker. Flew home on red eye from ANC to ATL

10.17 Arrive in ATL & drive Home
